Varaždin City for Oscar Winners
Varaždin, an ambitious city of film culture, hosted multiple Oscar winners and Emmy recipient Mark Ulano (Titanic, Killers of the Flower Moon, Ad Astra, Once Upon a Time in America), Stuart Wilson (1917, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Skyfall, The Batman), Roland Vajs, as well as the most significant film music producer Robert Townson.

The occasion was the International Sound and Film Music Festival (ISFMF) and the Academy of Film and Media Sound, an educational program specialized in film sound that will be partially conducted at the University North.
We were greatly honored that our special wine “selection of berries,” which was recently rated as the best Croatian wine in Slovenia, was chosen as gifts for the distinguished international guests.

As part of the event, a concert titled “Cinema Morricone: Intimate Celebration” was held at the Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin.
World-renowned flutist Sara Andon and pianist Simone Pedroni captivated visitors with their virtuosic performances, who were eager for more from their program dedicated to the legendary composer Ennio Morricone. We all enjoyed a musical journey through some of Morricone’s most famous and beloved works, including “Cinema Paradiso”, “The Mission”, “Once Upon a Time in America”, and “The Untouchables”. The program was led by Robert Townson, one of the leading global producers of film music.

Following the magnificent concert, a reception for guests was held where our organic wines were served.

This was the 12th International Sound and Film Music Festival held in Samobor and partially in Varaždin.

ISFMF promotes awareness of the importance of music and sound as irreplaceable elements of film. The festival also provides visibility to audiovisual professions working in music composition, sound design, and sound mixing.
